From this winery
Try thinking about a small production: and now think about half of it. This is Benoit Munier's Champagne Champagne vigneron from Cuis, Grand Cru village in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. Its is a wonderful project of sustainable viticulture that is the son of an empathetic way of feeling the vine that seems almost intimate with respect to the broader and classic concept of tradition.

The most typical champenoise story is fully respected in the history of its family, which had its first vineyard far away from where today Benoit Munier cultivates its grapes. Benoit's grandfather, Constant Gendron, had purchased a vineyard of just over one hectare in 1930 on Bouzy's territory, south of the Montagne de Reims. After World War II, however, his maternal grandfather André Gendron was forced to abandon Bouzy, a village too close to the border of the region, located exactly on the channel created by the Germans to reach Reims. Worried about the fate of his family, he moved to Cramant in the Côte des Blancs, selling Bouzy's property.

Over the decades, thanks to the savings of a lifetime, the Munier family has come to own 30 micro vineyard parcels for a total of 1.60 hectares. Only chardonnay only Grand Cru in the villages of the Côte des Blancs, namely Avize, Cramant, Chouilly, Oger. Today, Benoit Munier is a Cooperateur Manipulant, because having such a small production relies on controlled stainless steel winemaking at the small cooperative family of "Viticulteurs d'Avize". However, the identity of its grapes is safeguarded by the overall production of its vineyards, because it is able to press an entire "champagne" brand from 4000Kg at a time with fully owned grapes. In this way Benoit has the ability to follow directly the processing of all his champagne.

The bottles in the riftment phase, however, mature in the Cuis cellar where Benoit manages the habbillage manually, choosing the right moment for dégorgement. A champagne, that of Benoit Munier, who probably will not enter the myth of the most prominent, but has a beautiful story to tell, made of values ??and traditions but above all of so much willpower, with the idea of ??growing the ' avi heritage, aiming at a constant search for quality in every little gesture, and safeguarding the vineyard for the future of their children.
