Domaine du Boiron

The cultivation of the vine has long marked the history of Astaffort.

At the end of the nineteenth century, activity was still important, as evidenced by the seventy vine huts listed on the city. Unfortunately and elsewhere, phylloxera will annihilate the efforts of local winegrowers.

In the first half of the twentieth century, a regular clayey-calcareous replanting cover smeared 273 hectares of the municipality with varieties of grapes little known but with tasty names like bouchalès, Abourriou, big black of Calmette, Merille, Red Jurançon, Noha.

At this time, the Domaine du Boiron possessed a hundred hectares of vineyards with winemaking buildings.

It is in these same infrastructures, now rehabilitated, that we breed and vinify the new Domaine du Boiron.
