Domaine de Bellene is the winery founded by a young man named Nicolas Potel in 2005, brilliant vigneron with firm roots in the centuries-old history of Burgundy. The name of the Domaine recalls the ancient name of the town of Beaune, where the winery is located, in a large building dating back to the 16th century. Nicolas Potel's approach to viticulture is based on respect for the environment, nature and terroir. The vineyards are organically grown and consist of only old vines: the youngest is 35 years old, the oldest are 104. During the harvest the grapes are harvested in small baskets and immediately brought to the cellar. The idea behind the whole winemaking process is very simple: when the grapes are beautiful and healthy, there is no need for many interventions in the cellar. This is why the production process is very simple and spontaneous, without adding additional oenological products, without the use of yeasts, sugars, acids or enzymes. The wines of the Domaine de Bellene are born from 24 hectares of properties that extend into 6 Premier Cru of the Côte d'Or: 21 hectares in the area of the Côte de Beaune, and the other 3 hectares in the Côte de Nuits. These are traditional interpretations of Burgundy with a typically modern elegance and balance.
