Weingut Peter Lauer

Weingut Peter Lauer

The history of the Peter Lauer winery began in 1830 with a winemaker named Matthias Könen. It was during the marriage of his daughter and the winegrower Matthias Lauer in 1904 that the company fell into the hands of the Lauer family. And this vintner fused his wife's vineyards with his own.

During World War II, Peter Lauer (I.) grew the winery. And it was so successful that it was expanded in 1956 with a further and very renowned winery. The Peter Lauer estate now has the best terroir in the region. In 1973, the son of his own name took over the family business, which at that time already covered a 3-hectare wine-growing area.

Today it is Florian Lauer who continues with all the pride of his family. This young winemaker produces 'Riesling wines for fugitives'. This means a management in contact with the nature of the vineyards and during the production process, the pure passion for wine, the elegance, depth and volume in its wines, as well as the authenticity of the terroirs . Therefore, the betting of the vintner on the spontaneous fermentation of natural yeast as well as the dispensation with unnecessary methods of improvement of products of animal origin.
