Castello di Ama Il Chiuso Pinot Nero 2020
The 2009 season saw the birth of this new arrival. Pinot Nero was first planted in 1984 alongside San Lorenzo valley on a total area of 4.15 hectares, with clones coming from Burgundy (111-114-115). The training system at Open Lyre and the soil rich in clay and limestone allows Pinot Nero to reach the perfect ripeness.

Deep red colour.

Bouquet

Primary aromas are typical of Pinot Nero (strawberry, cherry, blueberry, violet) and they become much more complex with time.

Flavour

The attack is fresh, harmonious and complex on the palate.

Climate Altitude: 460-501 m. a.s.l. Exposure: North-West/South-East.
Soil composition Clay and limestone.
Cultivation system Partially Lyre and partially vertical Trellis.
No. plants per hectare 2,800 plants/ha for the Lyre and 5,200 plants/ha for the Trellis.
Vinification Vinification started using indigenous yeasts in steel tanks at controlled temperature of 30/32°C, with manual pumping overs and a total cuvaison of 13 days.
Ageing After racking, wine underwent malolactic fermentation in steel tanks. After , the wine was transferred in fine-grained oak barriques for a period of 12 months.
