Antinori Solaia 2020
The first sniff and you know it's a Super Tuscan! The nose is relatively intense, yet balanced, filled with ripe fruits/plums and a little sweetness. The palate is dominated by blackberries and cherries, well balanced, smooth and elegant. It brings a big smile to your face!

Colour

Intense ruby red.

Bouquet

The nose is immediately important. It is a wine in which the aromas of the fruit are preserved in perfect harmony with hints of vanilla and chocolate from the wood.

Flavour

On tasting, the Solaia presents a palate of great power, supported by an evident tannic texture, but soft and very persistent after some time in the glass. Notes of ripe fruit, blackberry and cherry make up an intense aftertaste and persistence that seem almost interminable.

Pairing

First courses with sauce, red and white meats, mature cheeses, wine for meditation.

Soil composition Limestone full of rocks ground with alberese rock.
Yield per hectare Less than 8,000 kg.
Production technique For all three varieties, fermentation was conducted at an average temperature of 27 °C, without ever exceeding 31 °C, in order to preserve as much as possible the olfactory sensations and typicality of the fruit. Right from the start, the musts showed great complexity, great varietal typicality in aroma, elegance and colour, immediately foreshadowing a vintage of great potential.
Vinification Devatting, at the end of alcoholic fermentation, the wines were placed in new oak barriques where malolactic fermentation took place by the end of the year.
Ageing They were then blended, rested for about 12 months in barriques, racked and finally, after careful tasting barrique by barrique, the wine was bottled. Market introduction took place after a further year of ageing.
Allergens Contains sulphites
Pairing First courses with sauce, red and white meats, mature cheeses, wine for meditation.
