Our winery is one of the oldest structures Caldaro. We are a family which for centuries has been passed from father to figlio.Fino documented as far back as 1731 is the continuous wine-making activity of our company for the past ten generations. Among the many customers that our company has had, thanks to the constant production quality, there was the convent of St. Peter in Salzburg. Numerous awards in the course of history show how our company is continuously engaged in the production of quality wines. In 1908, for example, our wine cellar wine won the Federation of South Tyrol to the 12 th of the wine market, "Deutsch - Tirols" (the German Tyrol) in Bolzano. Until 1960 we focused mainly in the bulk wine, which was sold in 50-liter tanks in the South Tyrolean food and Monaco of Bavaria. Only after several years it has started to bottle in liter bottles and then especially in bottilgia from 0.75 liters. The viticulture and enology have evolved positively over the years.

So much has changed. In 1963 they created the designation of origin, in order to control more and more the production of grapes and the quality of the wine. Another example of evolution is also a new system of cultivation - the back. In 1985 we experienced ourselves with this new system of cultivation, especially for small grape cluster. It also sought to cultivate new varieties of vines alongside the traditional grapes as above Schiava, Lagrein and Gewürztraminer such as Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Even in manufacturing systems we were able to evolve qualitatively, to work constantly, and especially so to maximize the character of the different grapes. In 1986 we started to work alongside our stainless steel tanks and oak with the barrel (toasted French oak barrels).

In recent years the company's history we have worked mainly for the quality and the name in our assortment. Family history has placed the ancient names of our ancestors: AMISTAR (The expression of the family, late harvest) and DeSilva (The expression of the soil, old vines).

With these two family names do not call only our two w. assortment of wines, but also personally identify ourselves as a family antique. With this tradition in the family to appreciate the culture was of course a requirement for us to exploit ancient types of grapes, but also be innovative.

Especially close contact with our customers has helped us to decide what was and what the quality of wine produced. Aware of the traditions, history, business and customer needs is also a challenge for us to engage with the utmost care in producing and wine from our grapes, with the intention of producing wines of the area and also new types such as assembly masssimi with quality requirements, in order to satisfy the needs of wine connoisseurs, and so more and enhance the culture of wine from Alto Adige.
