The art of wine in the Pepe company has been handed down over time from father to son, for 4 generations. In 1899, the founder of the family, Emidio Pepe, was already known for his excellent wine made from the fresh grapes of the Torano hills and in 1944, his son Giuseppe was already selling wine in bulk.
In 1964, Emidio Pepe, grandson of the company's founder, with shrewd foresight, realised the great qualities of 'Montepulciano d'Abruzzo' and began selling it in bottles as his 'black gold'.
Today, his daughters Daniela and Sofia Pepe continue with great passion and joy to produce great wines while respecting the winemaking methods started by their father 40 years ago.
In recent years, with the tenacity typical of the Pepe family and the determination of their youth, they have expanded the properties and increased production in the cellar, always under the watchful and protective eye of patron Emidio Pepe, who dictates the pace of his wine!
The realisation of a life project so closely linked to his passion is also due to his wife Rosa, who has supported and encouraged a man so full of challenges; not only in the cellar, dictating the timing of the delicate work of decanting the aged vintages, but also in the kitchen, delighting the palates of all the fortunate guests who have passed through the Torano hills, with the typical dishes of Teramo tradition.
A company that encapsulates the soul and personality of a family that is very attached to the land and traditions... where the passing of time has not changed, but only strengthened these values and virtues, in the passage from one generation to the next!
