The wines can be slightly rustic but the best of them are deeply coloured and smooth. Bobal has traditionally been relegated to bulk-wine production but producers working at higher altitudes have been taking this variety more seriously and giving it the attention it deserves particulatly since it retains well the acidity, the alcohol gradation, and produces well-structured, velvety and fresh reds. |
