Taurasi

Taurasi wine on offer

Taurasi is undoubtedly one of southern Italy's most important and well-known wines. It is produced in the province of Avellino and its origins date back to pre-Roman times: the grape variety from which this wine is made, Aglianico, was called 'ellenikon' to emphasise its Greek origin. Over the centuries, the term first changed to hallanico, until it became aglianico, the name officially recognised today. Taurasi DOCG wine undergoes a compulsory ageing period of 3 years, of which at least one in wooden barrels. On xtraWine you can choose from numerous Taurasi wines belonging to the best vintages of 2011, 2012 and 2014 that are distinguished by a bright ruby colour, an almost ethereal perfume, a full, dry and harmonious flavour with a persistent aftertaste. All the labels on xtraWine come from important wineries such as: Feudi San Gregorio and Mastro Bernardino and have received important awards from Bibenda and Veronelli. The Taurasi red wine is the right choice to accompany your meat dishes, cheeses and game, succeeding in enhancing the flavour of your dishes by intoxicating your palate.
