The capital of the province of the same name and of the Valencian or Valencian Community (Comunitat Valenciana), Valencia lies on the gulf that bears its name, along the central-eastern coast of Spain and at the mouth of the Turia River. It is commonly called Cap i Casal by the Valencians.
