The enchanting aromas that invigorate the flavour of the wine, and then stir the heart and awaken your emotions, this is the essence of the Tramin, project, the end result of our own research. The grapes allowed to become Unterebner come only from our best Pinot Grigio vineyards, located on the hills at 450 m. (1,500 ft) and above.

Colour

Golden yellow.

Bouquet

Fine, fresh and elegant notes of pear and hay, toasted bread with melted butter, spicy notes of tobacco, vanilla and frankincense.

Flavour

Full and rich, rounded and dense, with Alpine freshness, good juiciness, mineralic, longlasting finish full of character.

Pairing

Well suited to light first courses, fish dishes and lightly seasoned white meat; a perfect accompaniment to all smoked fish and meats and grilled vegetables.

Climate Extreme interplay of sunny days influenced by the Mediterranean climate and the cool nights marked by the cold downslope winds from the surrounding mountains. Altitude: 400 – 600 m. a.s.l. Slope exposure: southeast 85%, south 15%.
Soil composition Calciferous gravel with loam, partially with porphyry bedrock.
Yield per hectare 50 hl/hectare
Harvest Mid-September.
Fermentation temperature 18-20 °C
Vinification At harvest, the grapes were delivered in small bins and immediately gently pressed. Fermentation took place slowly at controlled temperatures (18-20 °C), partly in wood barrels (30 – 40 hl), and partly in tonneaux, where malolactic fermentation also took place. Clarification took place through natural sedimentation of particles.
Ageing In large wood barrels (30-40 hl) with a smaller part in tonneaux, always on the lees until the end of August. After bottling, the wine matured in the bottle for at least another 3 months. The total maturation period is thus at least 14 months.
