Terlano Alto Adige Muller Thurgau Tradition 2023
"In Terlan there are several very attractive sites in our highest and steepest vineyards, which extend up to 900 meters above sea level, where the Müller Thurgau grape produces very elegant wines with the peach and nutmeg flavours that are typical of the variety." (Rudi Kofler, Company's Oenologist)

Colour

Pale straw yellow.

Bouquet

A fine spicy aroma of nutmeg and white pepper enters into a highly harmonious relationship with ripe peaches.

Flavour

A Müller Thurgau with a well-balanced structure and lively acidity which give a fine and elegant combination.

Pairing

Excellent as an apéritif and also with swordfish carpaccio, poached fish like blue trout, or sea bass in foil. It also pairs with boiled beef with celery cream. It is also a good match with fresh alp cheese.

Soil composition Terlano is a wine-growing village located halfway between South Tyrol’s main towns of Meran/Merano and Bolzano/Bozen where the Adige river flows through a wide valley in a south-easterly direction. The village and vineyards nestle against the red porphyry rock of Mount Tschöggl on the orographically left side of the valley. With sites located at elevations between 250 and 900 meters above sea level, choosing the right variety is challenging. The lower sites are better suited to Lagrein, Cabernet, and other red wines, while Pinot Nero and the white wines are located at cooler levels.
No. plants per hectare 3,500-7,000.
Yield per hectare 6,300 kg/hectare.
Harvest By hand, with a selection of the grapes.
Vinification Gentle whole cluster pressing and clarification of the must by natural sedimentation. It then follows a slow fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks.
