The white wine produced at Tenuta Moraia needs no other name: it is simply Vermentino Maremma Toscana and, in an equally authentic and direct way, it manages to express the characteristics of its area of origin, including the influence of the sea, which translates into a slightly savoury note.

Bouquet

Spicy and peppery, with a floral bouquet mingling with intriguing hints of fresh herbs.

Flavour

On the palate, notes of citrus, salt, anise and ginger combine in a mouthful that also features hints of tropical fruit and a saline finish.

Pairing

Perfect with grilled fish, fried calamari and fish soups but also a great choice for an aperitif.

Climate	The exposure of the vineyard is south-east, at an altitude of about 100 m above sea level. The Mediterranean temperatures and the proximity of the sea (just 14 km away as the crow flies) make the vineyard the ideal environment for the production of a Vermentino with great minerality.
Soil composition	Along the sides of the valley, the soil has a clay component, enriched by sedimentary rocks. Going down the lower slopes, the soil reveals a sandy profile mixed with sandstone.
Harvest	The grapes are harvested at the end of August, during the early hours of the morning.
Vinification	Soft pressing followed by fermentation at controlled temperature for about 16 days.
Ageing	The wine is then aged on the lees for three months during which frequent bâtonnage is carried out. A small percentage of the wine is briefly aged in barriques.
