Still saracco wines

At the far end of the province of Cuneo, where the last hills of the Langhe overlook Monferrato, there is a village where 90% of the land is planted with vines. This makes Castiglione Tinella one of the areas with the highest vine density. Castiglione Tinella is 25 km from Alba and Asti and lies at the highest point of a hill from where you see endless vineyards. Here is situated the Saracco winery, founded in the early 1900s, 1900 - 1950: The winery started three generations ago, at a time when growing grapes was a matter of passion but above all hard work. The selection of the best pieces of land and the care of the vines was in the Luigi’s blood, the founder and great-grandfather of Paolo Saracco. 1951 - 1985: Giovanni (Paolo’s father) took upon his shoulders the winery from Luigi. With the same passion and meticulousness of his father, he purchased land and planted vines up to 20 hectares. In those years the wine was still sold in bulk. 1986 - present: Paul succeeded to his father soon after completing his studies in enology. He reorganized work in the cellar, experimented ways of making wine exploiting new technologies and started selling bottled wine. Saracco’s Moscato wine quickly became the reference for all lovers of Moscato.
