Still immich batterieberg wines

The company Weingut Immich-Batterieberg, located in the village of Enkirch in the Mittelmosel, has very ancient origins, in fact the first document proving its existence dates back as far as 908 AD. In 1945, the Immich family bought the plot and began producing their own wines. In 2009, regisseur Gernot Kollmann redeemed the production with a change of direction towards natural viticulture. Today, the Enkircher Batterieberg cru in particular has become famous, as over 100-year-old vines can be found here on sloping schist soil. The four vineyards that Immich works on steeply sloping soils consist mainly of quartz-rich slate and iron. The resulting wines are of great drinkability and minerality, products of a unique terroir in every sense. The cellar, built from rocks and quartzite, stands on steep soils and inside it the wines are processed with spontaneous fermentations, indigenous yeasts and left to rest in old barriques depending on the vintage.
