Still domaine des lambrays wines

Domaine des Lambrays is a producer located in Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits region, in northern Burgundy, and has a centuries-old history although the wine business has had its most significant turn in 1979 when Thierry Brouin came to the cellar . When Thierry arrived, he did not imagine that his involvement in the Domaine des Lambrays would last for almost forty years, it was clearly love at first sight! After overcoming economic difficulties, he took control of the destiny of the estate, renewing the vineyards and buildings and played a key role in obtaining the official recognition of Gran Cru of the Clos des Lambrays, its flagship, in 1981, bringing it in the world markets and in the cellars of the best restaurants in the world. There are only five hectares of vineyards available to this company and fifty thousand bottles produced every year, the cultivated vines are the great classics of this wonderful territory, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The great wines that this fantastic winery gives us every year are the Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru "Les Loups", the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Clos du Cailleret", the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Folatières" and last, but not least (indeed) the very famous "Clos des Lambrays", a wine in which the great stylistic essentiality hides a huge potential for aging, it is almost a monopole, for a total of 8.84 hectares they have 8.66, the remaining small portion is owned by the Domaine Taupenot-Merme, think that this cru after the French revolution was divided to 74 different owners, imagine how much history has to tell. They also make a brandy, known as Fine des Lambrays, produced from grapes aged seven years in oak after distillation. The estate also boasts a castle and its ancient 17th-century cellar, as well as one of the most beautiful gardens in the region. The garden is beautifully presented with a three hundred year old cedar, orchids and a collection of roses.
