Still crasà scr vini wines

Be there. Meaning of the abbreviation SRC Vini, which is based in Randazzo, Sicily, in contrada Calderara. It was born in 2012 from an idea of Rori, Cinzia and Sandra, who have always been wine lovers and lovers of the territory of the northern side of Etna, with the project to create a wine that respects and reflects the territory of that fertile island called Sicily. The work in the vineyard is limited to the essential, the land is worked at most twice a year leaving the wild herbs to grow free and most of the work is done by hand. The treatments (sulphur, rock flour, propolis) are carried out only if strictly necessary and the same philosophy is also followed in the cellar, in order to be less interventionist as possible on the wines. The land extends for 12 hectares and, in accordance with the old farming tradition, the vineyards are cultivated with nerello mascalese, grenache, carricante, coda di volpe, Iinsolia and minnella, as well as olive groves and fruit trees. All set in the woods and surrounded by old stone dry stone walls. Among the most representative are the white Pirao and the red Rivaggi, both from high altitude districts in the territories of Randazzo, and the red Alberello, from the district of Crasà, all three from old vineyards and capable of giving a true cross-section of the territory. Starting from the 2018 vintage Rori, Cinzia and Sandra have decided to produce a second white wine, in the Enta denomination, a blend of different districts, and a fourth red wine, from a small plot in the Barbabecchi district (in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia), waiting to be able to satisfy a great desire of theirs: a bubbly Nerello Mascalese. This is how they define wines that they want to impose themselves on the territory because they want to be there.
