Sandhi Wines Rita's Crown Vineyard Chardonnay 2014

Grown on a hillside of pale diatomaceous soils, this is classic Santa Rita Hills chardonnay with wholesome richness and limey acid. In 2014, his Rita’s Crown seemed a bit more warm-blooded than usual, the chalky skeleton taking on a fresh juiciness, not just citrus but heirloom apple with earthy russeting.

Bouquet

Aromas of lemon pith, almond skin, crushed white rock, and oyster shells.

Flavour

The palate is a little broader with hints of meyer lemon custard and roasted pine nuts.
