Wood aged patagonia wines

All associate it with deserts and glaciers, dinosaurs and breathtaking views, but the Patagonia Argentina is also the region where the southernmost wine is produced in the world. Already after the end of the Inca empire there were the first exports of lives in Argentina, but it is at the end of the 19th century with the great European migration - above all Italian - that the first real wineries began to emerge. In the country there are several wine regions and Patagonia is certainly the most interesting. The altitude around 400 meters, the rocky ground and the presence of the rivers Neuquén and Limay - born from the glaciers of the Andes - has favored the cultivation of many vineyards. From the slopes of the Andes also comes "La Zonda", the warm wind that ventilates and warms gently the crops of Patagonia. The south of Argentina is lashed by very strong winds, has a very marked thermal excursion, a draining soil and for these reasons the Patagonian vineyards produce small berries with a high concentration of sugars, acids and tannins. The dry heat of the day and the cold night guarantee a healthy harvest with a complex and refined flavor. This whole chain of elements has allowed Patagonia to produce grapes from the very European mold - especially our mountain qualities - and being a very low population density region it is also one of those from the vineyards healthier. The best varieties that are offered are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Pinot Noir among the red wines and and among the white wines i Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and the Torrontés of Rio Negro.
