Nicosia Etna Rosso Monte San Nicolò 2019
Only indigenous Nerello Mascalese grapes from ancient head-trained vines in the village of Monte San Nicolò, at about 550 metres on Etna's south-eastern slope, give this red wine a great personality and aromatic concentration. The nose has notes of red fruit, currants, cherries under spirits and sweet spices, while the palate reveals well-smoothed tannins and a warm, juicy taste. A wine of excellent structure, harmony and persistence, it is ideal with first courses with meat sauce, game, cured meats and mature cheeses. Best served at 16-18°C.
