A large part of the area of production of Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco is also the most suited to produce an excellent Dolcetto d'Alba. Already in 1600 this variety was widely planted in the Langhe and Monferrato and gave birth to a wine that the literature of the time indicated as being consumed daily by a refined clientele.Nowadays it is counted as being an elegant, fruity and very fresh red wine which it is advisable to drink within its first three years in order to appreciate its best peculiarities.
