Masseto 2020
Masseto is a 'Cru' that comes from the vineyard of just seven acres, known for its exceptional terroir. Merlot, with great structure and longevity, is produced in very small quantities due to the rigorous selection and philosophy of excellence that inspires. Listed as one of the most exclusive wines in the world, sought after by collectors and the protagonist in the most important international auctions, collecting Masseto consistently excellent ratings and unanimous support from the most important international opinion leaders.

Bouquet

Of great olfactory impact, it recalls small red fruits in jam and subspirit, withered spices and violets, then vanilla tobacco, fern, underbrush, cinchona and mineral gusts.

Flavour

Soft and structured, it has tannins of remarkable workmanship and exuberant freshness. Very long persistence, with fruity and mineral returns.

Harvest Between 3 and 15 September the grapes were hand picked in boxes of 15 kilos in four steps according to the different parts of the vineyard. The grapes are carefully evaluated in the field were carefully selected on a double sorting table, before and after stripping.
Vinification After crushing, the wine has continued partly in stainless steel vats and partly in oak barrels truncated. To guide you in choosing the source from the vineyard: every part of Masseto was vinified separately. After fermentation at temperatures around 25-28 °C, followed by a maceration of 10-15 days at 28 °C, for a total time of 20-25 days in the tank. Malolactic fermentation occurred in oak barrels (100% new).
Ageing 24 months in the temperature controlled cellars of Tenuta Ornellaia. After the first 12 months of aging, the assembly was made, and the wine was then returned to the barriques for a further 12 months. After bottling the wine was then subjected to 12 months in bottle before release.
