Colour

The colour is very intense purple red, almost impenetrable, it is clear with defined legs.

Strong perfumes of blackberry, currants and cherry.

Flavour

The strength of the alcohol is supported by soft tannins with good acidity. It is warm with a long-lasting persistence.

Soil composition The Montalcino hills have numerous soil profiles, as they formed in various geological eras, but they are primarily a shell-rich clay mix.
Cultivation system Mainly spurred cordon, but some use of Guyot.
Harvest From the 21st September to the 10th October.
Fermentation temperature Up to 24 °C.
Vinification The grapes are picked by hand. Red wine vinification, with maceration of the skins for 20-25 days, at controlled temperatures of up to 24 °C.
Ageing For at least 24 months, in 50hl Slavonian oak barrels. The wine rests in the bottle for at least 4 months.
