Areas of cultivation It is spread in Emilia, mainly in the province of Modena and in neighboring areas.
History Probably originated from "vitis labrusche", wild spontaneous vineyards of the Apennines. Its denomination probably derives from "Villa Maestri", in the commune of 5. Pancrazio (Parma), where it would then be spread mainly in Modena and it will be reggiano.
Ampelographic features Leaf: medium size, pentagonal, trilobata (sometimes also pentalobata); Petiole breast open V-U; Medium lateral upper middle breasts, lower lateral sinuses just mentioned, or V; Corner at the top of the rectangular lobe; Slightly pronounced lobes with the edges facing down; Flat flap, often; Top intense green, dull, bollosa; Gray bottom page, aracnoidea; Rimmed ribs, green with red base; Slightly pronounced teeth, mucronized, convex margins on one side. Bunch: Quite small (10-12 cm long), cylindrical or cylindrical-conical, sometimes slightly curved, thin, often with a wing, compact; Short peduncle, herbaceous, rose on one side, thin; Short pedicels, thin, green; Average-looking, red-vinous, smooth; Small, rose-colored brush. Acino: generally medium (the size is very uneven on the same cluster), spheroid; Pruinose, blue-black peel, a bit thick, consistent with persistent navel; Juicy pulp, soft, simple flavor, slightly acidic.
Characteristics of the wine obtained from this grape variety The perfumes here are also the Lambrusco's classic, always fruity with small red fruits surrounded by delicious hints of vinegar and must. The fresh olfactory range is also reflected on the palate, which is balanced by a saphenous vein. The acidity is rich, refreshing, for a simple wine to drink, clearly young. The body, however, is average, made light by low alcohol content.
Notes Excellent wine for the first time with the sauce, but also with the pork and rarely with roasts of white meats.
