La Brugherata Moscato di Scanzo Doge 0,5L 2008
Moscato di Scanzo is the only autochthonous vine selected in the Province of Bergamo, and it grows in the Municipality of Scanzorosciate thanks to the particular calcareous position of the soil, deriving from the transformation of the "moon stone". Already recognized as a sub-area in 1993, since 2002 Moscato di Scanzo has been an autonomous D.O.C., which includes only the hilly part of the municipality. Since 2009 it has been awarded the D.O.C.G. mention, perhaps one of the smallest in Italy with a limited production, but unique and with an ancient history. According to the production regulations, Moscato di Scanzo can be marketed only after the month of November from the second year after harvesting.

Colour

Ruby red with amber hues.

Bouquet

Intense and harmonious with fruity hints of jam and cooked fruit, floral hints of dog rose, herbaceous with notes of sage and finally spicy hints of cinnamon and pepper.

Flavour

Pleasantly harmonious, with a soft note due to the sugars and glycerine that blends well with the powerful and savory body.

Pairing

Blue-veined cheeses such as sweet gorgonzola or strachitund, dry pastries; particularly with chocolate. The Moscato di Scanzo being still counted among the passiti by meditation is excellent drunk at the end of the meal alone and for those who like with a good cigar.
