Climate The weather during the 2013 growing season was favourable at the Remole estate. Spring arrived in April after average to low temperatures and lots of rain in March. The increase in temperatures brought an early opening of the buds. In May, recorded rainfall was above normal which allowed us excellent water reserves with which to face the summer months. The plants consumed higher quantities of water in the month of June to combat high winds and to reach the flowering stage, which began in the first two weeks of June. Temperatures in the month of July and August were very similar and constant with peaks of heat in the last week of July and the first week of August. The rains during these two months allowed the plants to avoid water stress as the water reserves in the soil never dropped below the wilting point. September was characterized by favourable fluctuations between day and night temperatures which led to the concentration of aromas and maintenance of overall acidity. The vegetative cycle in 2013 was characterized by a series of constant rains and cool temperatures which helped vegetative development at our vineyards, albeit delaying phenological phases by about 10 days. Despite this delay, the particularly favorable climate in September led to an even maturation that allowed us to vinify the healthy and characteristic grapes.
