With this Sagrantino di Montefalco, produced for the first time with the 2006 vintage, Riccardo Cotarella hailed the birth of his first nephew Riccardo Chiasso. The letters R and C, initials of the name and surname of both, inspired the original RC2 monogram.

The color shows a beautiful intense ruby red with brilliant reflections. The smell is characterized by the notes of red fruit, which from the blackberry reaches the ripe plum. Aging in wood contributes to enrich the wine in terms of balance and elegance. To the taste the wine is decided, intense, rich with evident but not hard tannins, the finish is long and persistent.

Vinification Immediately after crushing, the grapes are sent to a pre-curing phase for 48 hours at a temperature of 18 ° C, during which the typical aromatic heritage of Sagrantino is fixed. Subsequently, during fermentation, the last phase of which takes place without the contact with the skins, we intervene with rare and soft replacements to exalt at best the only noble tannins. The wine thus obtained is elevated in 30 Hl barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place.
