Mosconi is a vineyard that gives color, acidity and tannin to Nebbiolo, so the wine will do its job to make a balance. Some barolisti fixed the 2014 date as the first limit of an acceptable combination of hardness and softness. The color is still intensely stained with ruby, shiny and lively. The perfume is so explosive: a turbulent, concentrated fruit of dark cherry, plum and blackberry; the spicy seasoning is all chopped black peppercorns, with the bitterness of the cocoa that runs around it and keeps pending the cohesion of pure leather and tobacco, tea leaves, lavender and rose syrup. The tannic lava has not yet flowed from the 2006 eruption, it is slowly sliding towards equilibrium, leaving a brand still gripping and spicy on the taste buds. A tannin that does not fill with astringency, for which it is already elegant, which is then the griffe "Mosconi", and that peeps that magical velvet that will dress and wrap this Nebbiolo for years to come. Beautiful the ending of the mouth: supported, erect, proud of baroleggiar in the marathon that will achieve the best youth of his spirit, to touch a perfection that the most careful they say do not exist.
Conterno Fantino, Barolo's lyricists, have struck again, not in words but in Barolo, masterfully intarsing Mosconi's structure with the terroir and the intuition of winemaker, the dosage from the breeding in the cellar and the post-fruited philosophy, the tannic prestige and the distinguishing distinction. Congratulations.
