Clos Haut Peyraguey Sauternes 2014
Peyraguey, whose name means hill, is an ancient barony acquired in the eighteenth century. In 1879 the domain was divided into two parts. One part was baptized Lafaurie-Peyraguey in homage to Monsieur Lafaurie, former owner, who gave prestige to the domain. The higher lands, on top of the hill Bommes, are called Clos Haut-Peyraguey. The meticulous care offered to the vineyard (16 hectares of Sauternes) allow, even in difficult times, where quality has to be extremely precise, to produce a Clos Haut-Peyraguey that deserves its name followed by the words "cru classé in 1855". The property belongs since 2012 to Bernard Magrez

Colour

Attractive, intense, radiant gold, with golden, with slight honey hints.

Bouquet

Intense, complex nose. The seductive candied honey and orange notes emerge first, then secondary aromas of almond, apricot and vanilla appear.

Flavour

Smooth, impressively dense flavor, with notes of orange and apricot. Beautiful enduring length. The essence of the grape. This wine is an example of the excellence of Sauternes wines: powerful, structured and elegant, with notes of fruits and intense flowers, with great aging possibilities.

Clos Haut Peyraguey
From this winery:

Le Clos, whose name Peyraguey means promontory, is a jewel of vines lulled by the sun and fed by the mists of Ciron river which allow growing velvet beans that give a unique and prestigious golden wine: Sauternes of Clos Haut Peyraguey. The vineyard ...
