Boscarelli Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Il Nocio 2019
Located on the East side of the estate, Vigna del Nocio has been owned by Poderi Boscarelli since 1988. It covers about 4 hectares at an altitude of 280 to 350 meters above sea level. The soil and climate have nurtured different types of Sangiovese vines to produce extraordinary selections of Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile since 1991.

Colour

Adamantine ruby.

Bouquet

An aromatic whirlwind of ethereal notes, undergrowth, potpourri, earthiness, red-fleshed fruit - even under alcohol -, intriguing tones of leather, dark spices and Caribbean cedar.

Flavour

Incredibly sumptuous taste charge, rich, energetic, woven from well-chiselled and dense tannins, and gratifying freshness. The wine has a long persistence.

Soil composition These soils of alluvial origin have different structural characteristics from the rest of the estate: they have distinct sandy and clayey areas.
Vinification After destemming and soft crushing, the grapes are fermented in oak vats filled to no more than two-thirds of their capacity using indigenous yeasts. Fermentation lasts about 10 days at controlled temperatures of 27 to 31 degrees. Short pump-overs are carried out in the initial phase, and manual punching-down of the cap. Maceration, in some cases, continues for a further 7 to 10 days after fermentation.
Ageing The individual Cuvées of Nocio are matured separately in Slavonian or French oak with capacities ranging from 5 to 10 hl. Maturation lasts 18 to 24 months. The final blend is made at the end of maturation using different percentages of the individual Cuvées depending on the characteristics of the harvest. The wine ages in the bottle for about one year before being marketed.
