Azelia Barolo San Rocco 2017

A cuirassier. Fleshy, extremely focused. The first vineyard purchased in Serralunga d’Alba. This Cru fully represents Luigi’s love for this village. The vineyard stands on a hill in front of the homonymous church of San Rocco. The clay present in this soil gives the mouth an intense energy. For this reason Serralunga d’Alba is called ‘il corazziere’ (cuirassier, a very skillful and powerful soldier) of the Langhe region. In fact the wine results in great structure, deepness, fully showing an intense complexity.

Bright intense garnet.

Bouquet

It exhibits with an extraordinary gradualness an ample olfactory range where small red fruits and roses alternate with iron mineral gustations, then soil, conifers, black tea and peppercorns.

Flavour

The mouth is elegant, supported by a formidable acid-sapid shoulder studded with mineral suggestions and fleshy lacy correspondence. Silky tannins.
