Areas of cultivation It is common in the Marche, especially in the Piceno area, Abruzzo, Emilia Romagna and Lazio, almost exclusively in the province of Frosinone.
History The Passerina vine comes from the small size of the acorns and the fact that the sparrows show a particular preference for its grapes, characterized by a particularly tasty pulp
Ampelographic features Leaf: medium, pentagonal, pentalobata. Bunch: Large, pyramidal or conical, squat, winged and moderately compact. Acino: large, spheroidal, with pruinose, thick, thick and yellowish skin.
Characteristics of the wine obtained from this grape variety The wine produced is straw yellow with greenish, sometimes golden gleaming; Fruity, floral and spicy aromas, with hints of citrus and dried vegetables, quite intense and persistent; Normally acidic, with bitter aftertaste and good texture.
