Antica Terra Oregon Antikythera Pinot Noir 2017
Antikythera is made entirely from our own little, rocky vineyard in the northernmost part of the Eola-Amity Hills. The wine, like the site, is a bit of an anomaly — it tends to defy characterization. In every vintage, there is an astonishingly extreme, high-pitched aroma of cinnamon-stick coupled with a non-fruity intensity and Barolo-like tannin that speaks neither of the Willamette Valley nor in some ways, pinot noir. Intensely mineral, it bears, somehow, a seemingly synesthetic resemblance to the ground from which it was born.

Bouquet

The nose has fruity aromas with hints of cinnamon, accompanied by tannins reminiscent of Barolo.

Flavour

The wine is mineral on the palette, in which the notes are perceived on the nose.

Antica Terra
From this winery:

The geology of the Antica Terra vineyard is pretty unusual. In most of the region, vineyards are planted in the relatively deep, geologically young soils left behind by either the Missoula floods or the volcanic events that formed the Cascade and Coa...
