Areas of cultivation	It has been traditionally cultivated in Sicily in the Messina area since ancient times. Sparse plants are also found in vineyards in the province of Catania, Siracusa and Ragusa.
History	It is an ancient vine, among the first to appear in Italy, whose introduction is presumably due to the arrival of the first Greek colonies dating back to the 7th century BC, a typical origin for the vineyards of the South.
