Brandy

Brandy on offer

Derived from the distillation of wine, Brandy is a distillate with an unmistakable flavour, characterised by an alcohol content that in some cases exceeds 40°. Known since 1200, it was initially used for medicinal purposes and owes its etymology to the abbreviation of the English word brandywine, i.e. burnt wine. This distillate, produced from acetified wine or lees and marc, undergoes an ageing period of about two years in oak barrels. The oak barrels give it its typical amber colour, which in some cases is accentuated by adding caramel and sugar to soften it. At xtraWine you can find the best brand ies thanks to a thorough research of these spirits known for their enveloping aroma. Indulging in a glass of your favourite brandy means letting yourself be enraptured by an intense, almost fruity aroma and a strong, sophisticated taste given by the use of fine grapes. In order to be able to release the organoleptic characteristics of the brandy, it must be enjoyed in special glasses called ballons, which must be warmed by hand and served with ice so that its intense scent given by the oak remains intact.
