Matured in wood veneto spirits

Veneto is a region with a solid winegrowing tradition, which maintains the scepter of Italian production with just under 8.174.000 hl of wine in 2009, with a minimum prevalence of white, and 30% of wines are DOCG and DOC. The most widespread vine is the merlot, followed by the indigenous Garganega and Prosecco among the white grapes, while Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara are more cultivated among those with red berries, in particular in the Verona area and in the Vicenza area. Just in the province of Verona are produced some regional DOCG, Soave Superiore, Bardolino Superiore, Amarone della Valpollicella, Recioto della Valpollicella and Recioto di Soave, delicious raisin wine based on garganega. Remaining in the field of sweet wines we must remember the Torcolato, based on vespaiola, produced in the Breganze area. In the Valpollicella area, in addition to interesting red wines, we produce the DOCG Amarone della Valpollicella, based on corvina, rondinella and other local grapes partially dried, robust and full of fragrant nuances that make it one of the best reds in Italy. On the Berici Hills there is the red friulano, a particular vine, widespread especially around Barbarano, where it gives a fruity and fresh red wine. On the Euganean Hills you can appreciate the DOCG Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio based on yellow muscat, while the Bagnoli DOC includes the friularo, a red wine with a great structure elaborated by a biotype of the raboso piave. The hills of the upper part of Treviso are mainly viticultural to prosecco, from which the different types of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene are obtained, among which the Extra dry meets the greatest success. The particular, for the fine aromaticity distinguishes the Prosecco Valdobbiadene-Superiore of Cartizze, produced in the homonymous restricted area in the hamlet of San Pietro di Barbozza. Also in the area of sweet wines, Torchiato di Fregona is produced in these areas, based on Prosecco and Verdiso, as well as Refrontolo Passito da Marzemino. In the eastern areas, as well as in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the most widespread varieties are some international, such as pinot grigio, chardonnay and pinot bianco, merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon, even if the local friulano, verduzzo trevigiano and raboso piave they occupy a good part of this vineyard.
