Leclere Minard

Leclere Minard

Clément Leclere took over the reins of the family estate created in 1922. With a surface area of 2.3 hectares, his estate covers three large terroirs. On Coulomme la Montagne (small mountain sector of Reims), we find terroirs of clay, sand and silt. The terroirs of Tramery and Courmas in the Ardre Valley have shallow soils on which limestone can be found very quickly.

At the instigation of Clément, the estate gave up using herbicides five years ago and works the soils with chenillard. The viticulture practised is of the "very reasoned" type. Organic farming trials are currently being carried out under the watchful eyes of his parents, but no certification has yet been applied for.

In terms of vinification, Clément also wishes to gain in precision by working with indigenous yeasts, without chaptalisation, fining or filtration, and is moving towards single-variety, plot-based vintages.

The wines currently offered on the market are already of an excellent level but we are sure that with Clément we have a future "great" of the region.
