La Monacesca

The Monacesca The farm is located in the municipality of Matelica, in Contrada Monacesca, about 4 Km from the town, along the road that leads to Fabriano. Its registered office and headquarters in Ancona, Marche with warehouse and bottling in the town of Potenza Piceno, still within the province of Macerata.

The area where we are located owes its name to the, around the year 900 AD, a small group of Benedictine monks of the order of Farfa who escaped from North-Italy's persecution Longobarde, decided to settle in this hermitage and built a small church and a convent (now fully restored and are part of the village business): this beautiful land so taken in time the name of "Monacesca", taken from 1966 also brand business when Casimir Cifola bought the farms and started the ' by planting the first vineyards and the realization of the first winery. Our current production is around 160,000 bottles per year, destined exclusively to restaurants and specialty shops in Italy and abroad, always produced with the same painstaking care and attention that our loyal customers kindly recognized by more than thirty years.
