La Grazia Azienda Agricola

The farm "La Grazia" is a project born from the Oberti family that, having moved to Valtellina from Bergamo, in 1919 started a new commercial activity in the agricultural field by setting up Oberti S.r.l. operating in the sale of flours, cereals, grains, forages and products for agriculture and livestock. Since then always attentive and fond of the territory, the whole family has always worked for the community and for the people of Valtellina, also in the social field.

The passion for wine, however, comes from afar: producing it has always been the dream of Paolo Oberti who, since he was a child, when the "nanny" Gina took it to the grape harvest, pressed the grapes with her feet and washed the barrels in the cellar. Only in the 90s, however, this project began to take shape. At that time, the first purchases of vineyards began from employees of the historic Oberti company who were retiring, but as no one wanted to continue the grape growing activity, they reserved the use of these vineyards for as long as they could.

Then the turning point: in 2012 Paolo himself thought he could combine love and passion for wine with this deep attachment to the territory. The conviction is that he can make the most of small productions of mountain viticulture, which can now be defined as "heroic", creating products of extreme quality and peculiarities lately much sought after on the national and international market. So here is the real birth of the winery "La Grazia" deriving its name from Mrs. Grazia, Paolo's wife and mother of their four children who, together with their parents, believed in this project.

On May 29, 2016 the winery La Grazia was awarded the Rosa Camuna prize, which is a public recognition for the commitment, creativity and ingenuity of all those who have distinguished themselves in contributing to economic, social, cultural and sporting development. The winery was included in the VINIPLUS 2020 guide of the Associazione Italiana Sommelier Lombardia and received this award on November 25, 2019 during the Press Conference to present the guide.
