Erparcrife

Erpacrife is an acronym and corresponds to the first letters of the names Erik, Paolo, Cristian and Federico, a quartet of young winemakers who, after meeting at the Enological School of Alba, decided in 1999 to give birth to the Erpacrife brand and, consequently, the homonymous wine farm.

Intended, immediately, to produce a classic method sparkling wine using, instead of the usual Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, 100% Nebbiolo, they marketed, at the end of 2003, the first vintage of their Classic Method Quality Sparkling Wine. Nebbiolo base. The latter is obtained following a very early harvest compared to the classic one, in order to preserve the right acidity of the grapes and ensure a non-excessive alcohol potential, essential conditions for a sparkling wine base; after a cryomaceration of the grapes, then, an alcoholic fermentation takes place at low temperatures, while in spring the second fermentation in the bottle is carried out; finally, after a rest of at least 24 months on the yeasts in the bottle, we arrive at the disgorgement with definitive capping.

Today, more than ten years later and with the reputation of having been the first in Italy to use nebbiolo for this purpose, their production also boasts a Quality Class Classic White Sparkling Wine, from the native Erbaluce, Cortese, Timorasso grapes and white muscat sparkling with the classic method, and a Moscato Spumante, with a second fermentation in the bottle. Despite everything started on the school desks, the three never stopped believing in the project, investing, year after year, in research and experimentation: their remarkable results are, therefore, to be looked at with admiration.
