Dominio de Pingus

Dominio de Pingus

Peter Sisseck is Pingus, an agronomist and winemaker born in 1962 in Copenhagen, who has lived in Spain since 1990.
The winery Dominio de Pingus was founded in 1995 and was a project that Sisseck had in his head for a long time. Sisseck had previously worked in California, close to the prestigious winemaker Zelma Zong, who has been an enriching experience for both.

Upon arrival in Spain, Sisseck worked as a wine producer in Pesquera del Duero and then on home soil in Onesimus Quintanilla, Valladolid, where currently the prestigious wine is made Pingus. The first 1995 vintage of Pingus, Robert Parker declared, "One of the greatest and most exciting wines I have ever tasted".

The winery Dominio de Pingus is a traditional wine cellar with a few rows of barrels, a press rudimentary, some wooden vats and steel. But art and low production may allow the best in terms of quality of the final product. The secret of these wines is in the old vines of Tinto Fino grown in just five acres in a very controlled selection. The stripping is done manually and with patience, rattling off the ripest grapes from each bunch.
