The wine history of Domaine Justin Boxler began in 1672, when the Boxler family left Switzerland to settle in Alsace. Since then, in Niedermorschwihr, the heart of Alsace's vineyards, the family has been cultivating and working the vines from one generation to the next. From Father to Son and from Justin to Justin to Justin!
At the end of the 1950s, Justin transformed the destiny of the estate by introducing bottling at the estate. It signed its first vintage in 1959. This step was the beginning of a new era. Start of the marketing of wines on the estate, until then sold in barrels.
Between 1980 and 1990, Justin's children, Pierre and Anne, joined the estate and gave it a new lease of life. The development of the vineyard and cultivation practices as well as marketing. In 2000, Anne, Pierre and his wife Isabelle took over the family hotel and developed the reception of guests at the property. Today, the estate has 12 hectares of vineyards spread over the villages of Niedermorschwihr, Turckheim, Katzenthal and Ingerheim as well as on 4 Grands Crus slopes.
Nowadays, the seeds of a new generation are growing. In 2015, Florent, son of Anne and Richard, joined the estate after studying viticulture. He completes this experience with three years of apprenticeship with a winegrower in biodynamic viticulture.
Our family philosophy, based on four centuries of experience, brings together under the same banner the strong values of our customs. Customs enamelled with centuries-old know-how and instilled deep into our DNA. Faithful and committed to this exemplary family spirit, we exalt, transmit and communicate our shared values. Unwavering values, both for the respect of our terroir and for the environment through the necessary practice of sustainable viticulture.
