Jean Luc Joillot took over the family business in 1981. His father died when he was only 10 years old and it was his mother who courageously continued in business until she joined the company. In 1983 he began renovating the winery, located near a small parcel of Pommard Premier cru called "les Petit Epenots". From then on, thanks to the success of the wines, he continued to acquire small parcels of land up to the current 60, for a total of 14 hectares.
