Alexandre Jouveaux is a talented winemaker, owner of a small domaine in Uchizy, north of Macon.
He arrived in this part of Burgundy in the early 1990s and started to cultivate his first plot in 1999, combining work in the domaine with that of a teacher at the local school of oenology. After choosing to devote himself entirely to work in the vineyard, he adopted a philosophy of minimal intervention.
Following a simple approach in the winemaking process, its purpose is to obtain a live wine, the result of manual work without additional filtrations. Alexandre carries out the collection in boxes of 10 kg which are then directly poured into a hydraulic press; the juice obtained is placed in a 1200-liter foudre and until the moment of bottling Alexandre does not intervene so as to obtain a wine that is both young and wise. Like all wines produced with love and dedication, its also require a lot of patience.
He did not want to give them a name of the Macon area but he has the pleasure of labeling them simply as "vin de table".
The production is minimal, with a total of 6,000 bottles, the main characteristics are freshness and acidity.
Given the small amount produced, the wines of Alexandre are highly sought after by enthusiasts from around the world and present in the main lists of natural wines of Paris. Anne Claude Leflaive is a great admirer of her as well as her usual client.
