Gut Avelsbach, a former Prussian state domain, belongs since 2016 to the DRK-Sozialwerk Bernkastel-Wittlich gGmbH, a recognized laboratory for disabled people in Bernkastel-Kues.

In the best locations in Trier, the Avelsbach estate includes 25 hectares of vineyards, including Trierer Deutschherrenberg, Trierer Str. Maximiner Kreuzberg, Avelsbacher Hammerstein. In addition to the Riesling Auxerrios vine, Gewürzaminer, Pinot Noir and Regent are grown.

The Rotliegender sand shale gives the wines their distinctive character and forms the basis for lean and pleasant wines that simply delight every wine lover.

Gut Avelsbach was created in 1901 as a model plant for viticulture in the idyllic side valleys of the Moselle in Aveler Berg. Decisive for the choice of the place was the belief that the Riesling grape here in the argillaceous schist would spread their fine aroma and their characteristic taste particularly well.

With its imposing buildings me their typical around the turn of the castle-like century character and from the unique location in the rich wine landscape is good Avelsbach still an important vehicle of image for the whole region.
