De Luze

The Boinaud family, head of the De Luze company, boasts, as only a few others, a long and consolidated experience in the art of distillation: in fact, it produces Cognac of the highest quality for 24 generations.

Originally from the town of the same name, Cognac was born from the distillation of wines produced from ugni blanc, folle blanche, colombard and some other minor varieties such as the sémillon and montils, and was already produced in the second half of 1600, while the first Large-scale distillation seems to date back to the seventeenth century.

The Cognac production area, north of Bordeaux and with an area of about 80 thousand hectares, is favored by a climate particularly suited to the cultivation of the vine; governed by the "carta dei cru", ratified in 1909, it is divided into six areas: Grande and Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, Bons Bois and Bois Ordinaires; each area has its own climate and soil, capable of unequivocally marking each vineyard, and therefore wines and spirits, with organoleptic characteristics and different aging capacities.

The Boinaud family has the largest estate within the Cognac name and, with its 410 hectares, the company is located in Angeac-Champagne. In order to preserve the quality of their Cognac, whose birth takes place in small steps, all of the same importance as each of them contributes to the final quality, the Boinauds follow the entire production process, so much so that they distill, refine and bottle their products.

The company produces Cognac Fine Champagne, obtained by mixing eaux-de-vie of Grande and Petite Champagne; the Fine Champagne is distinguished by its aromatic and dominant floral and fruity tones, and is very elegant after a long aging. Their product range includes VS Fine Champagne, VSOP Fine Champagne, XO Fine Champagne, Extra Delight Fine Champagne and Alfred Fine Champagne, flagship product whose name pays homage to the company's founder.
