Champagne JM Gobillard et Fils

Champagne JM Gobillard et Fils

Gobillard Gervais, a farmer in Courtisols, with his parents in 1933 decided to become independent by buying with all the money he had 2 hectares of vineyards in Hautvillers, his wife's native country.

At that time, only the big commercial houses were successful, but small wine producers like Gervais know only misery and many of the farmers do not share his choice. After several years of hard work, he manages to have his own brand and a loyal clientele.

He transmits his passion for the vineyard and the wine to his son Jean-Marie. The champagne is democratized, the vineyards are replanting because of the phylloxera, a parasitic aphid, which destroyed the entire vineyard at the beginning of the century.

Jean Marie Gobillard and his wife Françoise renew the vineyard. Success is quick and allows them to gradually invest in the vineyard, which was still possible around 1970-80. In 1982, their winery, located in Hautvillers, is about 8 hectares of vineyards. Unfortunately, in 1982, in a tragic accident, fate decided to stop Jean-Marie from taking advantage of her success.

30 years have passed, their values remain the same, the company is constantly expanding. Gervais and Jean Marie would certainly be proud of their descent, which without them would not have had the opportunity to make known and appreciate the Champagne JM Gobillard & Sons.
