Ardbeg

Ardbeg is located in Islay, the mecca of whiskey whiskey drinkers, and was founded in the late 1798s. His story is a bit troubled since he has gone through moments of decline, then fortunately, he returns to occupy a place of close-up in the vast panorama of Scottish distilleries. The production was stopped in 1981, resumed in 1989 on a small scale until 1996 and finally returned to the highest quantitative levels from 1998 onwards after the change of ownership. It is currently owned by the colossus Moet Hennessy.
Production is on millions of liters a year, not so many, but divided into a very varied core range and almost unanimously appreciated.
Official bottling includes the 10-year-old base, Airigh Nam Beist, the latest Blasda (which, unlike the style of the distillery, has a slight mastication), Corryvreckan (party as a limited edition bottling and then extended) Supernova (the most turbid of all recent Ardbegs), Rollercoaster, Alligator, the newborn Galileo and, in fact, the Uigeadail object of this review.
