Jura
Relief of central Europe, between France and Switzerland, whose chains begin south of the Rhone, near Chambéry, stretching north of the river in a slightly arched series, until the confluence of the river Aare in the Rhine. It gave its name to a geological period that is well represented in the rock formations that make up this mountain range.

Jura
Jura
| Country name | France |
| Soil and climate | Thanks to the considerable rainfall, the mountain is covered with woods, especially conifers. The highest areas are bare, covered with pastures, quite thin, which are exploited in summer by transhumant flocks, which feed a substantial dairy industry. |
| Typical dishes | Known cheeses: the Upper Jura Bleu, the Vacherin, the Cancoillotte, the Comté and the Emmental. In the region, soup is served at every meal. Lentil soup, barley broth with chicken or frogs, fruit soup with cherries, orange and hazelnut, onion soup, etc. It is also the town of the small and unmissable cherry. As a fruit, as a dessert, in soup or in Kirsch, it is the protagonist especially in the Christmas holidays. |
